Some more stuff from the Tucson Show:
Antiquarian (1800's) scientific prints of various orthoceras specimens; we sell Moroccan Orthoceras in several forms: small and large polished single specimens, pendants...a print and a paperweight might (ahem) make a nice gift for someone science-minded...
Bluestone from Britain is the dolerite stone used in the later monoliths of Stonehenge. A very hard material, difficult to work, thank goodness we don't have to mess with it. We have several incarnations now of crafted bluestone: pendants, bracelets, runes and 'the green man' - all from the UK.

Moroccan ammonites are not as showy as some, but these caught our eye - the plain plump ones are a nice size, and the split polished ones could compete with the prettiest Madagascar versions.
|
Amethyst points from Brazil - we don't guarantee that they're magical, but they're pretty and pretty neat.
Whale ossicles (ear bones) from California do cost more than whale ear bones from Florida (which we also have), but they are prettier and more rare. Either, though, makes a nice conversation starter, sitting in your curiosity cabinet. "What IS that?"
And now, a word from Bone Room Texas:
And now, a word from Bone Room Texas:
BONE ROOM TEXAS
One of the few bear species in the world that are still healthy and even increasing in population is the North American Black Bear. In fact they are doing so well that estimates show that there are twice as many Black Bears in North America as all other bear species combined in the world.

Ron Cauble, founder of The Bone Room, was obsessed with inclusions in amber. At Fossil and Mineral Shows he would typically be found seated at an amber dealer's booth, a great pile of amber pieces before him, peering through a loupe at the world inside each piece.
Over the years, some of the pieces were sold to collectors and scientists (most notably, to George Poinar, recognized amber expert and author) - but Ron was always a better collector than salesman, and his collection grew to museum backroom proportions.
Finally we are getting a good start on cataloging and photographing his enormous collection of amber and copal, and offering this work of love and obsession to the public. We think Ron would approve.
